Brian is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over 15 years’ experience designing and delivering building projects in Europe and across Australia.
He has recently returned from Australia where he was leading the design and delivery of large-scale projects in Sydney and Melbourne.
Throughout the last fifteen years he has been involved in the design and supervision of a broad spectrum of building and civil engineering projects including healthcare facilities, mixed-use developments, commercial office developments, defense facilities, residential buildings and cultural developments.
Brian has undertaken the design and supervision of many forms of construction including reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, structural steelwork and general structural timber.
He has also completed a number of major refurbishment projects that have incorporated extensive temporary works, façade retention, underpinning and restoration of existing structures.
During his career, Brian has gained specialist knowledge in the design of high-rise structures, waterproof basements and the analysis of building structures for footfall induced vibration.
With an extensive background in managing the detailed design and
documentation of major projects, Brian has key experience in leading the design development of structural elements and in the management and guidance of the project engineering and drafting teams.
He has been the lead engineer on the successful delivery, management and planning of many large scale landmark projects including Qantas Headquarters, Two Melbourne Quarter, Dubbo Base Hospital and Northpoint tower.
The first four years of his career were spent working for Ove Arup and Partners Ireland prior to joining enstruct Group in 2008. He then spent 12 years working with enstruct Group in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia where he was appointed Director in 2016.
On his return to Ireland, Brian joined DRA Consulting Engineers as Associate Director and is looking forward to contributing to its continued success and growth.
