Project Description
DRA Consulting Engineers acted as Civil & Structural Engineers for the construction of a two-storey extension to the existing Salesian Sister Convent at Larchwood Avenue, Caherdavin, Limerick. The extension consisted of 8 No. bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, utility room, prayer room, living rooms, meeting rooms, utility room and associated site development works.
DRA worked closely with the architects from concept stage to ensure the clients requirements were met. Key to the proposed project was to ensure that the new extension could act as a stand alone building, facilitating the downsizing of the Convents residents and allowing for future development of the site with minimal impact on the remaining residents. The extension also needed to be future-proofed to ensure the ageing Sisters future care needs could be adequately met.
