Large Scale Housing Development
This project consists of the construction of 24 No. social housing units for Kerry County Council in Balloonagh, Tralee, Co. Kerry. Within the development there are 12 No. 3-bed two-storey houses, 12 No. 2-bed two-storey houses and 4No. 1 bed apartments within a two-storey apartment block.
The form of construction of the units consists of prefabricated timber roof trusses, supported on load bear masonry wall which are constructed on strip foundations. The units ground floor consists of a suspended precast concrete floor slab and the first floor consists of a suspended timber floor in the houses and a suspended precast concrete floor in the apartments.
DRA Consulting Engineers provided full Civil & Structural Engineering Services including design & supervision of drainage works, liaising with Irish Water, roads construction, watermains and the structural elements of the housing units. Ancillary Certification in Accordance with the Building Control (Amended) regulations will also be provided upon completion.
