Adoration Convent, Wexford
The original property was constructed circa 1886 and is a former convent which was occupied by the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration up until the end of 2019. It is located at Bride Street in Wexford Town on the site of the Church of the Assumption. The convent is connected to the church via a cloister to the front of the building.
The building is listed by Wexford County Council as a protected structure (RPS Ref: WBC0198) and is on the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage as Number 15505042.
DRA Consulting acted a structural conservation engineer and carried out a detailed survey of the existing convent including a detailed roof survey from the basket of a mobile crane. A detailed survey report provided recommendation on strengthening and preservation works.
Design works are underway to convert the convent into accommodation for pupils on retreat from the Georgia Southern University
